Citizen Foresters, join us as we celebrate Sigsbee Park during one of Friends of Grand Rapids Parks BBQ & Beautify events. This event will include a tree care portion followed by an appreciation and community BBQ in the park! You have probably noticed.. it’s been dry and hot! Trees in Michigan depend on a wet spring to sustain dry periods in the summer. However, this year, we have had very little rain 🙁 This makes us very sad as many trees we have planted may not make it beyond this season- and watering trees takes up a lot of staff time and resources.

Thankfully, during the volunteer portion of this event we will be watering all trees we’ve planted on the site and celebrating your hard work with a good ol’ fashion BBQ immediately following. Feel free to come to just the tree care, BBQ or both!

We’ll start at 5:00pm with the watering portion and FGRP will lead a park project. The food will be on the table by 6:30pm!
