BRANCHING OUT: Becoming a Park and Tree Champion

Not everyone understands the values that trees and parks offer to our community. As neighborhood tree representatives and parks alive leaders, you have one of the most powerful opportunities to convince your neighbors of the importance of trees and parks in our community. This class will offer you a perspective on the big picture of ‘Urban Forest Management’ and “Championing” your community park!  The class will help to develop specific tools on how to effectively converse with your neighbors and City officials about trees and parks and their role in building a healthy community.

This class completes the tree advocacy requirement for both the Citizen Forester and Parks Alive Leaders training programs. It is the fourth and final requirement to become a ‘Citizen Forester’!  Just remember there is no need to take these classes in any specific order, and anyone is welcome to attend!

This class is free for Friends’ members. You can become a Friend for a minimum donation of $5 at the event.

Space may be limited. Please RSVP to either Daria or Rachel by email at either [email protected] or [email protected]!
